View down the hill from Nybyen, which is pronounced "noo-boo-en" and means "new town". These were some of the miner's dorms built, it would seem, out in the suburbs. Longyearbyen is home to about 1500 people, by the way! We were housed in these dorms, which are also the primary living space for students of UNIS.
