I resisted learning to knit for a long time. I had tried it as a child and it was a complete failure. Not only did it seem boring, but I was terrible at it. Once I started weaving, however, I found myself drawn to other fiber arts, primarily knitting, although I have been seen lately chasing around a drop spindle...
