The burning of the
Böögg, a
spring tradition here in Zueri. The length of time it takes for his head to
implode is (apparently) correlated with the quality of the coming summer...
The word is they used to burn a witch to extract this seasonal forecast, but
that is rather frowned upon these days. This is the big finale of the spring festival of Sechselauten, where all the traditional guilds put on their traditional clothing and have a parade down Bahnhofstrasse. |
